To the best of my knowledge in order for a world/US/regional premiere to "count" it needs to be a public event like a festival. Festivals place a good bit of value on hosting the world/US/regional premiere of a film, so if you've already held the "world premiere" elsewhere then their incentive to program your film is lessened. This project has been fabulous to work on and I can hardly wait to see it up on the big screen!
